In this classic 1984 movie, a small town girl is willing to take the train anywhere and the city boy is not exactly from South Detroit but Chicago. When Ren (Kevin Bacon) moves to small town, Bomont, where he meets rebellious teen, Ariel (Lori Singer.) Keep in mind she is also the daughter of the town's minister who advocates the law of prohibition when it comes to dancing. Ren does not exactly like the law though, so he tries to spread some of his big city dance movies to the small town of Bomont. With so many catchy songs, it's almost impossible to not dance along to the rock and roll that is featured in this film. This movie may not have you changing your style any time soon, but it still teaches viewers that anybody can do anything if they put their mind to it.
