In this intense movie, Scarlett Johannson teams up with Morgan Freeman and plays Lucy, an innocent woman who got caught up in the tangle of a crazy drug trade. During the fiasco, said "drugs" entered into her body allowing her to use all of her brain capacity. It is said that humans can only use about 10% of their brain power. In this movie, it's pushed to the maximum. With entertaining special effects and action fights everywhere, Lucy is on the search of these so called drugs to make sure she doesn't die on the streets of Europe and Asia. Even though the acting does seem a bit overdone, Scarlett Johannson impresses viewers. Not only that but interesting facts are there to intrigue and enlighten the audience of what we thought we knew. This movie is rated R for some sexuality, but mainly for the extreme graphics that take place in this movie. If you are squeamish, you better shut your eyes, because some stomachs are about to be ripped open literally. In the end of this movie, you learn time is everything and time is in the essence.
My Rating: B+
