She was a small town girl living in a lonely world. She took the midnight train, well, bus going anywhere. He was a city boy born and raised in California. In 1984, Sherri (Julianne Hough) was following her dreams on becoming a singer by leaving her little town in Oklahoma and going to California. It wasn't until she met Drew (Diego Boneta) when things got interesting. Viewers were able to tell that the two would fall for each other, but they would not be expecting a rock musical would have so much sex, drugs, and rock and roll in it, but that's what Rock of Ages is. With songs from White Snake, Guns N' Roses, and Bon Jovi, this movie is amazing. Some viewers might view it as another cheesy romantic musical, but with the power of rock and roll, Rock of Ages rocks the socks off of people. Not to mention the all star cast featured in this movie makes it even better. With stars like Tom Cruise as Stacee Jaxx, Paul Giamatti, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Russell Brand, Alec Baldwin, and Bryan Cranston, you can't help but crack a smile at some of the crude humor that's inserted in this movie. If you like musicals, get ready. This is not your typical musical. Rock of Ages will definitely not let you stop believing or singing.
*Rated PG-13 for sexual content, language, some heavy drinking, and suggestive dancing.
My Rating: A+++
