In this intense movie, San Andreas has the time of it's life while the city splits away from California. In the mean time, Dwayne Johnson plays Ray, father, about to be divorced man, and helicopter rescuer. It was not until he is out and about rescuing people, he sees the earthquake firsthand, and the effects are terrific from the point of view from a member of the audience. The audience is able to see the rumble from beneath California as if the tectonic plates were actually moving, but it was actually the work of some really good effects. It was just a little strange that while California was moving Ray regroups with his soon to be ex-wife, Emma (Carla Gugino), and soon finds out his daughter, Blake (Alexandria Daddario), got stuck in a bad situation due to the earthquake, and of course, he tries to save her. The movie can get intense due to the fact that an earthquake is happening and when there's an earthquake, there's a tsunami, so a tsunami is to be expected. It is definitely captivating watching this family go through so much just to be with each other especially having an emotional appeal on certain parts. All in all, this movie is an amazing movie and it is definitely a must see.
*Rated PG-13 for brief language and intense scenes.
