So since I've been on my Studio Ghibli vibe lately, I thought this would be a good movie to continue off of. Not only that, my boyfriend has been trying to make me watch it ever since we started dating. Anyways, I don't even know how to start off with this movie. I must say though, it is a really amazingly beautiful movie. Not just the plot line but the scenery and music as well. The thing that stuck to me so much was the symbolism behind everything. Everything in this movie has a visual metaphor that it's so hard not to overlook anything. If an animal moves through the scenery, it's like the breeze that moved the leaves had a meaning too. Anyways, Ashitaka (voiced by Billy Crudup) was in the middle of protecting his village when a demonic boar comes out of the forest. It wasn't until the demonic entity got a hold of him that viewers knew something was going to go down. This is another thing that I like about this movie. It starts off right off the bat with action, and it just makes the audience question why? Being sent to find the Forest's Spirit, Ashitaka is sent on an adventure. He not only stumbles upon a couple villages where he meets very interesting people that are proud of themselves, but he also meets San (voiced by Claire Danes) who believes she is a wolf guardian of the forest. From there on out, creativity bursts in all directions. Now I can go on about all the craziness that happens, but there is so much that I don't want to just analyze all portions of the movie, so viewers are just going to have to accept another great movie by Hayao Miyazaki.
