Did you know sicario in Mexico means hitman? I didn't know that, and I took six years of Spanish. Anyways, I don't even know where to begin with this movie, because for a time being I felt like the main character, Kate Macer (Emily Blunt), who works for the FBI and was on an investigation when she delved into something deeper than what the FBI is used to. It then leads to the CIA where Josh Brolin plays Matt Graver, Kate's boss who she volunteered for since she wants to know what was up with a house filled with dead bodies and why it had to deal with a cartel from Mexico. Having to follow orders not only from Matt but a strange person named Alejandro (Benicio Del Toro) who looks like he is never up to no good, Kate is put in a position that no FBI agent has ever encountered. Now this movie can get intense, but it's more on the suspicious side where viewers are constantly asking "What does this have to deal with the movie?" I know I had to constantly ask that question. It's not long that answers start popping up but in a bizarre way. That's what is intriguing about the movie though: the never-ending questions. What does this guy have to deal with the cartel? Why is there a kid involved? And the one question that everyone even Kate questions: Who is this Alejandro guy?
*Rated R for strong violence, grisly images, and language.
My Rating: A+
