In the second installment of Now You See Me, the gang is back and the tricks are bigger and better than ever before.
People say beauty is in the eye of the beholder. In this case, the Four Horsemen are either thieves or heroes. For a year, J. Daniel Atlas (Jesse Eisenberg), Merritt McKinney (Woody Harrelson), Jack Wilder (Dave Franco), and Lula (Lizzy Caplan) are taking orders from the Eye but they come to terms very quickly that they can't trust just anyone. The only person that they can trust is the fifth Horsemen, Agent Dylan Rhodes (Mark Ruffalo), and he's still trying to figure his own things out with the FBI. After revealing yet another bad seed, the four are brought to Macau where Walter Mabry (Daniel Radcliffe) needs their magic tricks to steal something for him. The gang soon realizes they need to work as a unit in order to get out of things alive. So if you watched the first movie, viewers will already know how much information is thrown at them. In this movie, there's more information and it comes twice as fast. I admit I might have to watch this movie again just to make sure I have all the information accurate, but that's what I liked about this movie. It's a little complex but not hard to follow since they explain some of their tricks. Not only that, the plot delves more into Agent Rhodes story and my favorite Horseman, Jack's nifty card tricks. All in all, the movie does reveal the Four Horsemen for who they really are.
*Rated PG-13 for violence and some language.
My Rating: A+
