In this cat infested movie, Hayao Miyazaki does it again but with a lot of cats and let me tell you, even though I am allergic to cats, I still can't get over how adorable cats are whether they're real or in a movie.
Haru (voiced by Chizuru Ikewaki) is just like every other young adult: clumsy, likes to sleep, and tries to do the best that she can even if it means saving a cat from the middle of the street. The thing about this cat though: it talked to her and she was able to understand it. I don't know how Miyazaki comes up with all these different types of worlds, but Haru was pushed into the cat world, and at first, she didn't mind it. That is, until she started realizing who she was again and that is definitely not a cat. With the help from a few friends especially the mysterious Baron (voiced Yoshihiko Hakamada) that Haru met when first entering the cat world, they make their way out but of course, with a few obstacles in the way. Some of those obstacles were marrying a cat prince, dealing with a fat cat, and some slight transformations of Haru herself. This movie is so adorable. I will admit that, and the artwork dedicated to this movie, is immaculate. I definitely enjoyed watching the different scenes especially from Baron's place to the cat kingdom. I don't think viewers would mind catching a few hairballs while watching this movie.

My Rating: A+
