Independence Day: Resurgence

Hey guys! What's up? I know I haven't been posting a lot of movie reviews lately. It's because I got an internship in Washington, so I've been trying to gather my bearings and make sure I got all my stuff taken care of. But anyways, a little tidbit: I watched the first Independence Day when I was two years old. So my memory is a little foggy when it comes to remembering what happened in the previous movie, but I actually tried my best to rate this movie on it's own entity.

In Independence Day: Resurgence, all the little kids that viewers saw in the old movie are all grown up, and they're helping to save the world from aliens destroying it. And with a cast like Liam Hemsworth, Maika Monroe, and Jessie T. Usher, it was kind of interesting to see what their roles were like. So since my memory was foggy, it seemed like the beginning of the movie was moving extremely fast for me. All the characters kept on mentioning things like "Before when this happened" or "Remember when this happened" my mind was drawing a blank, but as the movie progressed, I was getting flashbacks as a kid with all the flashing white lights and aliens. So as you would have guessed aliens have come to Earth, but it's the same aliens that tried attacking in the first movie. This time though, it's the mother alien, and she's trying her best to make sure the human life form is destroyed. With graphics that could have been done a little better, it was still a good movie with a good plot. Yes. The movie was kind of going a little fast for me, but it was still interesting learning why the aliens were there again and especially character development. The former president of when the first time the aliens came was included along with some characters that I distinctly remember when I was a little kid. They are definitely old, but they still have a spring in their step when trying to kill the aliens. The action is definitely intense, and the intensity can definitely get a viewer on the edge of their seat. So if you're wondering what happened after Will Smith helped save the world, you might want to check out this movie.

*Rated PG-13 for sequences of sci-fi action and destruction and language.

My Rating: B+ (only because I really should have watched the first movie before watching this one)
