Now before I delve into the shenanigans of this movie, I have never read the comics. I do not know a lot of the fights that went on between the characters, but it was just one big jumble mess.
Alright. Before I go into the story line, may I just say that I thought this was supposed to be a Captain America movie. You know? All about him and his story. Nope. It's about the Avengers, and everyone knows the Avengers. They had a couple movies already. So everyone knows that they are super heroes. Except there are some officials who don't think so. They think they are vigilantes, and so the officials try to bind the Avengers to rules. Captain America (Chris Evans) doesn't think that will do anything besides stop them from saving innocent civilians though. Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), on the other hand, thought something else. From there on out, the movie just became a big jumble of Marvel characters. Spider-Man, Ant Man, Black Widow, Hawkeye, you name it. Oh and the connection the producers were trying to portray was also too much. Whether it was friendships or romances, the producers tried to remind viewers the connections each character had with another one. It may be an action movie, but it was like everything was toppling together literally. From one scene to the next, and let me tell you, I felt like this was one of the longest Marvel movies I have ever watched. In the end though, of course, there was a giant battle between Captain America and Iron Man, but the craziness, I feel like has just begun. And that's why there's going to be another Avengers movie.
*Rated PG-13 for extended sequences for violence, action, and mayhem, also language.
My Rating: C+
