So what I really liked about this movie was that it answered a lot of questions that I had from previous movies. Not only that, there was a lot of references to the previous movies. One of which was what happened to Elizabeth's (Keira Knightley) and Will's (Orlando Bloom) child. Well, in this movie, it delves deeper on what is going on with Henry Turner (Brenton Thwaites) and that is saving his father from the curse of the Flying Dutchman. But that doesn't stop Captain Salazar (Javier Bardem) from stopping him in order to get a message to an old buddy of his, Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp). Now Jack has his own problems to deal with. One of which is being married to a woman he didn't even know he was married to. But aside from his own problems, he still manages to help out his friend in need and break the curse.
Now I don't if this is a new trend when it comes to accentuating magic, but there was a glow whenever the dead were around which was very strange. I think it's the effects that were used, but it was nicely done. I don't know. Maybe it's a new thing when it comes to effects. I do admit I wasn't paying attention as much as I wanted to during the movie but I believe this movie is a great way to get me and fellow viewers in the Halloween spirit.
*Rated PG-13 for violence and suggestive content.
