Hey there! Happy Halloween! I know it's been a moment since I last wrote a movie review but I'm back and just in time for spooky time!
I have always been a huge scary movie fan and the Halloween movies have always caught my interest. Michael Myers made sure to not let viewers down in this reboot.
Halloween definitely has a lot of the vintage horror elements which includes less CGI but with a modern twist. One of the scenes that I really liked was when one of the daughter's friends gets caught by Michael Myers in a neighbor's backyard where there were motion sensor lights. Another component was the opening credits. Normally in a movie, the actors/actresses names fade in and out as the movie starts. In this movie, I was given chills to the piano instrumental of the Halloween movies and the credits.
Another thing I really liked about Halloween was the timeline. According to the movie, Michael has been in a mental health facility for years after all the mass murders he committed. Jamie Lee Curtis does an amazing job as her original role as Laurie Strode. As for he story itself, it was amazing and I can't help but now watch the original movie.
All in all, a good thriller to watch during this spooky time.
Rated R for violence, bloody images, language, brief nudity, and brief drug use.
My Rating: A
