I've always been a Marvel fan more than DC and the reason why is because DC is all about their visuals. This movie kind of proved my point.
Arthur, Aquaman, (Jason Mamoa) is your regular fish out of the water. Born from a queen from the sea and a human, Arthur does just fine. He's just like you and me except that he saves people. He makes his enemies but it wasn't until Mera (Amber Heard) splashed out of the water and asked him to take his right and be the true king of the sea. His half-brother is in the process of being the Ocean Master and start a war with the humans. It's up to Arthur to bring a sense of peace between the life in the water and the life outside the water.
I do admit: the visuals are not that bad. Once you get passed the CGI, you get sucked into the movie and want to see more. There were moments that obviously come with superhero movies like destruction but I just couldn't get past the fact like when they were in Sicily, they're fighting and none of the tenants didn't come out of their homes to see what was up with the pounding on their roofs.
All in all this movie isn't bad but it's not my favorite. It's entertaining and I can't help but think this is DC's version of Thor especially with the hunk of meat that plays the main character but you get passed it.
*Rated PG-13 for sci-fi action and violence and language
My Rating: B
