Captain Marvel

Hey guys, how's your night going? Movie of the night (last night) was Captain Marvel and I have got to say I haven't been more excited to watch a Marvel movie now because this was shown before the next Avengers movie.

The year is 1990 and Vers (Brie Larson) is having some strange dreams. She knows it's her in her past life before joining the Starforce Military. It wasn't until she was sent crashing onto Earth that Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) helps jog her memory. It may have involved chasing down some aliens and meeting an old friend from her old life but it all comes back to her and her fighting her real foe, Central Intelligence.

I really liked the music mainly because the movie takes place in the early 90's but at the same time who doesn't like jamming out to Nirvana? Not to mention, the comedy factor is high. Of course, the humor counterbalances the seriousness in the movie but it takes the edge off especially when Vers is wondering if the enemy is Kree or aliens. There was one consistency moment I noticed and it was when Vers old commander kills one of the aliens and he's bleeding red blood instead of the blue blood outsiders from Earth bleed. It may have been somewhat obvious but to me, it was odd when everybody is out of this galaxy and they have different blood than us humans.

All in all, the movie is great and I suggest watching it just to make sure you are caught up with the Marvel movies (By the way, you do get to see a cameo by Mr. Stan Lee himself [RIP]) so that you're not questioning what's going on in the next Avengers.

*Rated PG-13 for sci-fi violence, action, and language
