Fun fact of the day: Godzilla is 393 feet! He's typically 355 feet tall but for some reason in this movie, he got taller and may have worked out a little bit more!
It has been five years since Emma (Vera Farmiga) and Mark Russell (Kyle Chandler) lost their son, Andrew. It has been five years since they have seen Godzilla and other Titans. It wasn't until one day Emma decided to take things in her own hands to do things in vain of Andrew. Her daughter, Madison (Millie Bobbie Brown), is on the fence about her behavior though. Communicating to her distant father, Madison comes with her mom to see what other Titans they are about to encounter.
Whether it's Mothra, Monster Zero, or Rodan, the earth was quaking when these Titans risen. It was definitely action packed with all these Titans fighting each other and there was even some comedic relief. But I would like to say just like it's other movies Godzilla: King of the Monsters was to entertain the audiences. Yes. It has some more of a deeper story line about Godzilla and his former Titans but it just seemed to entertain. There were other moments when you would get a little agitated with Emma or concerned on why a teenager decided to take things in her own hands but it was interesting to see how things took a turn.
It may not be my favorite movie but it certainly wasn't the worst. If you were wondering if you wanted to spend the money to watch the movie though, I would just wait until it hit Redbox.
*Rated PG-13 for language and monster action.
My Rating: B+
