Hey guys! It's been a while since I've seen somewhat of an old film so I thought I might bring back some old school movies like Bubba Ho-Tep!
Stuck in a nursing home, Elvis Presley (played by Bruce Campbell) is stuck doing nothing except stewing in his own personal anguish and bored out of his mind. It wasn't until a mummy came and disturbed the peace in the nursing home that Elvis wanted to be the hero he once was. With his friend, John F. Kennedy (played by Ossie Davis), they do their best to thwart the evil mummy that has decided to wreak havoc upon their nursing home.
If you like the old horror movies then you wouldn't mind the cheesy comedy or the cheap props. But it's the cheesy comedy and cheap props that somewhat make the movie. Since I'm a fan of Elvis, it's funny seeing someone play him in a senile perspective. Campbell did pretty well filling in his shoes especially with the voice. The one thing I didn't like was the ending and even though the main character did die, it was not expected. So if you want to see Elvis get in a fight with a mummy, it is a must watch. All in all, it's an entertaining movie. It just may be a little outdated.
*Rated R for language, some sexual content, and cheesy violence from the early 2000's ;)
My Rating: B
