Hey guys! I know it's been a minute since the last time I was on here but I feel the love! Thank you so much for all your comments and likes! Keep them coming! Anyways, Movie of the Night: A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood!
It's not exactly a beautiful day in the neighborhood for Lloyd Vogel (played by Matthew Rhys). He doesn't have the strongest relationship with his father. He's somewhat of a pessimist, and he is new to the parenting world. It's not exactly easy for Lloyd. It wasn't until he was assigned to do a portfolio of Mr. Fred Rogers (played by Tom Hanks) that he decided to think about what he was doing with his life and how to make things a little less bleak. The days were definitely turning beautiful shortly after meeting him.
This heartwarming movie definitely touches those who are going through a tough time. Whether you're going through a rough patch with the family or your significant other, it just makes one think about the way they react to certain situations. Mr. Rogers did touch a few dark topics, but it was to help not only children get through the dark times but parents as well. There's a reason why he touches so many hearts across the world. This movie was definitely a change especially when it came to the transitions. Using the toy setting, the producers did an amazing job transitioning from one scene to the next. Not to mention, the nostalgic feeling of the piano melodies. If there wasn't a story going on, I think people would enjoy the music alone. All in all, the movie is definitely one for the holidays to make people feel warm and fuzzy inside.
*Rated PG for strong thematic material, a brief fight, and language
My Rating: A+
