Good evening guys! I hope your Monday is going well. I'm writing this review a little late but I don't think it will cramp anybody's style. The movie from last night is 1917!
The year is 1917 and it's the midst of World War I: Germany against everybody. In this movie, Germany is going against the British. Following William Schofield (played by George Mackay) and Tom Blake (played by Dean-Charles Chapman), the two are supposed to sent to the front to call off an attack. The thing there are Germans who are going to attack them or their traps will kill them before they make it to the front of the waves before they can send their message. It also doesn't help one of them doesn't make it to the end alive.
I didn't know what to expect with this movie at all. I was told it was shot all on one go except for one portion of the movie, and that it was somewhat of a documentary since it's based off of someone who was a part of the event. It's an interesting movie if you like your war movies. It definitely keeps the viewer intrigued since you never know what's going to happen. If a rat can start can explosion then you don't know what else can happen in the blink of an eye. I do have to advise though, if you are not too keen on blood, this movie is not for you. All in all, it's an interesting movie. I would just wait until it comes to Redbox or Netflix to watch it if you're not that excited to watch 1917.
*Rated R for language, violence, and some disturbing images
My Rating: B
You have Pet Semetary an A but 1917, an academy award nominated movie a B and said to wait for it on Netflix? Wtf? This is not the type of movie you want to watch on the little screen.
