Hey guys! How's it going? I know some of you are probably watching the Superbowl while some of us don't even care about it. I do watch football sometimes, but I watch the Superbowl mainly for the commercials, National Anthem, and half time show haha. Anyways, Movie of the Day from the other day: Swiss Army Man!
After a while of being shipwrecked, Hank (played by Paul Dano) stops in the middle of hanging himself to see why a corpse was farting after washing ashore near where he was going to commit suicide. Manny (played by Daniel Radcliffe) immediately got Hank's mind working in ways that made him somewhat appreciate life like explaining how things worked. Especially life, girls, farts, and many other wonders. After making Manny see the benefits of life, Hank gets the motivation to go find help since Manny is his multipurpose tool to find civilization.
I don't even know where to begin with this movie. I really wanted to watch this movie mainly because I love Harry Potter, and Daniel Radcliffe is one of my favorite actors. I still can't believe it took me around four years to actually watch this movie and all I can say is: What the heck? This movie definitely gets you thinking especially if you were in a dark spot and getting yourself out of it. It then takes a turn making you say WTF throughout the entire movie. It is definitely a comedic relief after seeing Radcliffe in such a serious role but it is so out of character. Who would have thought he would be playing a farting corpse? Not to mention a corpse that is somewhat back to life. I think what really got me questioning the movie was Hank's relationship with Manny, because he was in the middle of committing suicide when he encountered him. It's an interesting take on things so if you happen to get your hands on this little gem, I would give it a go.
