The Babysitter

Hey there guys, how's it going? I know it's been a minute since my last movie review. I've been keeping myself busy during this pandemic and since I have the time to watch movies now: Movie of the Day: The Babysitter. (Also please bare with me since Blogger changed it's format again.)

For a Netflix original, this movie is okay. What would you expect with a 14-year-old who is constantly babied from all the adults in his life? It also doesn't help that he still has a babysitter. The thing is Bee (played by Samara Weaving) is the only person that truly understands Cole (played by Judah Lewis) even with all of his nerdy ways. It wasn't until he decided to stay awake when he found out what she really does after tucking him in bed: She's part of a cult.

I really don't know what I was expecting with this movie. I found it a while ago, and it was sitting in my To Watch list when I decided to watch it today, and it's not too bad but if you are willing to get around the stupidity of some things. It makes you wonder what 14-year-olds are really curious about. Especially since they're hitting that age of wanting to know everything they are told especially at school. As for a horror movie, it could definitely have some work but I do have to say, the producers got creative when it came to the deaths of some characters. It is a movie that will definitely make you laugh but don't expect any jump scares when watching this one on your couch.

*Rated TV-MA (or R) for suggestive language and gore
