Hey guys! How's it going? You know with all this time to myself, it's nice to be catching up on movies I haven't watched over the years so without further ado, Movie of the Night from last night: Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle!
High school teenagers Spencer (played by Alex Wolff), Fridge (played by Ser'Darius Blain), Bethany (played by Madison Iseman), and Martha (played by Morgan Turner) fit their stereotypical types. Fridge being the high school football player struggling to stay on the team by having Spencer, the nerd, do his homework. Bethany is the typical popular girl who doesn't like Martha's judgmental and snarky comebacks. It wasn't until they all had detention together when they found the old game of Jumanji. Playing as the avatars they chose, the teenagers have to get through the game without losing all three lives and following video game logic.
This movie is so entertaining that the comedy offsets the stupidity of some of the characters. Even though it's about teenagers entering a video game world, video game nerds and other viewers still follow the concept even with the modern day Jumanji. I feel like the all star cast is what draws people to watch this movie because even though the nerd gets to play the buff character and one of the females gets to be a guy, it's still just entertaining to watch. Nothing special gives the movie a gripping experience. So if you're looking for something adventurous to watch with the kids, feel free to watch this one on Hulu! Not on Netflix!
*Rated PG-13 for adventure action, language, and some suggestive content
