Parasite

Hey guys! How's it going? So I recently just got Hulu and this was one of those movies that was heavily recommended to watch. So Movie of the Night from last night: Parasite!

The Kim family is your typical South Korean family that works hard for what they want. The thing is money is hard to come by when the job isn't done right so with the help of his college buddy, Ki Woo (played by Woo-Sik Choi) lands a job as a tutor for the Park family's daughter. With the help from his family, the entire family ends up working for the Park clan. It wasn't until one night when the Park family went camping and the former house maid came to save her husband that things started getting a little hairy.

I had no idea what to expect from this movie. All I knew was that it was a Korean movie. I was not expecting to be reading subtitles, and I was not expecting an ending as surprising as the one that came in this movie. It was an interesting movie from the get go especially since the Kim clan lives in poverty. Landing the job was just pure luck but what kind of annoyed me was when Ki Woo was tutoring the Park's daughter that he started having feelings for her when he knew his friend was into her. Other than that, the timeline is a little fuzzy because when the family sees the former house maid she was covered in bruises as if she was rubbing her face in peaches (She's extremely allergic to peaches) so it could have been a little clearer but other than that, the movie is oddly captivating. So if you're looking for a foreign movie to watch, this is one to invest in. Keep in mind: it is not on Netflix!

*Rated R for language, some sexual content, and some violence
