Hey guys! How's your day going? Sorry about not posting this past Saturday. I got a little busy but I know I was promising another vampire movie review but I promise I'll post it this upcoming Saturday. For the time being, Movie of the Night from the other night: Green Zone!
Back in 2003, the USA placed the army in Iraq because General Mohammed Al-Rawi (played by Igal Naor) passed along a notebook that may or may not have information about weapons of mass destruction leaving some tension between the two countries. U.S Army Chief Roy Miller (played by Matt Damon) is sent to make sure there is no such thing. But of course, it is not easy when a man is on a mission especially in a foreign country.
I was still very young when all this happened so watching a Hollywood adaptation kind of piqued my interest on what happened 18 years ago. (The event happened for a few years but it started in 2003.) It's just interesting, because when I was in school during that time, I was learning about the American Revolution or the Louisiana Purchase. I'm sure children learn about it later in middle school and not in elementary school. Anyways I don't know if the full facts are accurately depicted in the movie but Matt Damon plays great as a rogue army chief who is on a mission. The cast definitely caught my attention though. Brendan Gleeson plays as the commanding CIA officer telling Miller where to go in order to find the WMD. Amy Ryan plays a Wall Street Reporter who later publishes Miller's story behind the WMD. There is a great amount of action in the movie and the drama is just wild. The only con I do have to mention is how much the camera shakes whenever focusing on a character. It's as if someone is holding the camera instead of having it on a stand. All in all, an action packed movie and an ending viewers do not expect.
*Rated R for language and violence
My Rating: A
