Free Guy

It's still Monday where I am so I apologize if this is a little late. I'm still trying to settle into my new place and building a routine as well so bear with me. Anyways, I've been wanting to review this movie ever since I watched it a couple weeks ago. So without further ado, Movie of the Night from the other Night: Free Guy!

In the life of Guy (played by Ryan Reynolds), everything is routine. He has to have not just a good day but a great day and especially with a smile. It wasn't until he bumped into a player that he somewhat realized he's a non-playable character in a video game made by Millie (played by Jodie Comer) and Keys (played by Joe Keery). It wasn't until they realized their business partner is making a sequel to the game; The thing is he's getting rid of the first game. What's a sequel without the original especially when Blue Shirt Guy is trending?

I was going to watch this movie on the small screen at home but I'm glad I watched it at the movie theaters. Anyways, I was not expecting to enjoy this movie more than I did because not only does Ryan Reynolds have a direct line to my funny bone, but the story was intertwined kind of smoothly compared to other video game movies. Did I mention Jacksepticeye is in it as well? :D Excuse the nerd in me. I was able to tell there was going to be somewhat of romance squeezed since the creators of the game have a close relationship. It wasn't as forced though but I was expecting it especially Free Guy is a form of a MMO (massive multiplayer online game) and in these types of games, players meet all sorts of other people and I've known people who have met their significant others while playing video games. Anyways, besides the awkward relationship between Millie and Keys, I enjoyed Free Guy on the big screen. Oh and if you do happen to watch it, how many Easter eggs can you find?

*Rated PG-13 for violence, language, and crude references

My Rating: A
