The King's Man

Hey guys, how's it going? Happy last Saturday of the month. January wasn't a bad month. It could have gone better but it was a warm up for the rest of the year haha. Anyways, Movie of the Night: The King's Man.

In this prequel installment of the Kingsman series, viewers get to see Oxford (played by Ralph Fiennes) in his prime. In 1902, Oxford not only lost his wife but had to start raising his son, Conrad (played by Harris Dickinson) by himself. Conrad shortly realizes his dad is keeping him on a tight leash and will absolutely not let him be a part of the UK's army to help serve the country on an up and coming war. A war that not only involves the Russians, the Germans, and the British but the US as well. Oxford doesn't just sit off on the sidelines though. With the help from his son and a few friends from the Round Table, The Kingsman agency is formed and there to help in any way they can to stop the war from progressing.

After the last Kingsman, I had no idea what to expect. Keep in mind: I don't watch a lot of previews except what is shown at the theaters so I somewhat knew what was going to happen but I was not expecting anything from this movie. Anyways, I couldn't help but just be intrigued by this movie. There were some moments that were a bit cheesy. For example when Oxford and Conrad go against one of the antagonist's spies. His name is Rasputin (played by Rhys Ifans). Let's just say there's some Russian dancing that is quite absurd during the heat of fight. Anyways, I definitely enjoyed this movie on the big screen and if you decide to watch it, I would definitely make sure to use the bathroom before because it is a little over two hours.

*Rated R for language, sexual material, and bloody violence

My Rating: B+
