The Matrix Resurrections

Hey guys! How's it going? Happy New Year! Welcome to the Year of 2022 and it is somewhat the future but not really since it is the present. Anyways, speaking about the time, how about a blast from the past but in a modern twist? Movie of the Night from the other Night: The Matrix Resurrections! :)

Thomas Anderson (played by Keanu Reeves) is living the life as a video game content creator. The thing is there is something missing from his life, and it wasn't until he saw Trinity or Tiffany (played by Carrie-Ann Moss) depending which world they were in. Because of her though, Thomas can't figure out what is the real world and which one is the fake world. But it all depends on his choice on what he wants to view it as because we all know: The choice is always yours.

I know it's a little late for a movie review but I wanted to make sure I got to it before the night ended. One of my new years resolutions is to be a bit more consistent when it comes to my movie reviews and I'm glad I'm being held accountable because I wouldn't even have Mango Bits without you guys. Anyways, even though I watched this movie before 2021 ended, I thought this movie somewhat defined what the future is: Basically a remodel of the past but just modernized. Tom is somewhat upset his fictional world isn't real, but he knows deep down it is and knowing that it is real is what makes him feel more awake as well as connected to Trinity. I am upset they didn't actually involve the original Morpheus but all in all, I definitely like how they made a modern Matrix. Especially with Neil Patrick Harris! I do admit: The plot twist was a little weird but I was able to go with the flow. Anyways, all in all, a good modern twist to a good movie but not the best. Still a good movie to watch on the big screen though.

*Rated R for violence and language

My Rating: B
