Uncharted

Hey guys, how's it going? I know I have been a little gone as of lately but I've been super busy. But don't worry. I have a list of movies I have to rate so I'm going to start with the most recent one I've watched. Movie of the Night: Uncharted!

Nathan Drake (played by Tom Holland) is your average run of the mill thief. It wasn't until he meets Victor Sullivan (played by Mark Wahlberg) that he ups his A game. But with a new partner comes more adventures for young Drake. It brings him to not only Spain but to the beaches of the Philippines and an enemy who wants both of them dead. But Nathan can't help feel the adrenaline and the rush of the journey. Just like Sir Francis Drake said "Sic Parvis Magna."

As a huge fan of the games, I had somewhat high expectations from this movie but it did not disappoint me. There was a moment with the timeline that threw me off though, because according to the games, Nathan meets Sully in Spain when he was in his younger teen years, but according to this movie, he meets him at his bar in the United States. Other than that, the movie was quite enjoyable to watch. The quirkiness was a bit more than the games but I figured that was going to happen especially with the stars who were picked to play the duo. (Speaking of which, I like how Naughty Dog had to insert themselves somewhere in the movie.) Oh yeah. Fun fact: Did you know Nolan North, the voice of Nathan Drake, was in the movie as well? I thought that was pretty funny. Oh and Chloe (played by Sophia Taylor Ali) was pretty spot on with her attitude and spunk. All in all, a pretty entertaining movie that made me want to sit down and play the games again. Maybe and hopefully, they'll continue to make another movie.

*Rated PG-13 for violence and action

My Rating: B-
