Top Gun: Maverick

Hey guys, how's it going? I know. It's not your normal Monday or Saturday but seeing how I'm not even going to be available Saturday, I might as well post this guy before I get busy on my first vacation since forever. Anyways, Movie of the Night: Top Gun Maverick!

After three decades, Captain Pete "Maverick" Mitchell (played by Tom Cruise) is enjoying his life. No promotion. No movement upward because of his love for flying. It wasn't until he was recruited to come back to the Navy's top air school, Top Gun, to train elite students to bombard a foreign country's unsanctioned uranium plant and that alone pushes his boundaries in the sky. It's up to Maverick to make sure his students and himself to push the boundaries. After all, the sky is the limit.

It has been a long time since I saw the original Top Gun and I was not expecting no less when watching this. I enjoyed watching every minute of the movie. Of course, there was a little favoritism toward one of the students, Bradley "Rooster" Bradshaw (played by Miles Teller), but I love the references to the classic. Mister Val Kilmer is even in the movie and looking better than ever. The bond Maverick has with the students was actually my favorite part of the movie, because he never thought about his personal gain. And of course, who can forget the famous Kenny Loggins "Danger Zone"? This is definitely a movie you should watch on the big screen. Skip watching it at home. Experience the flights and sound in the big theaters.

*Rated PG-13 for language and intense action

My Rating: A+
