Calling all witches and warlocks! The Sanderson sisters are back! I am so sorry I have been slacking on the movie reviews. I have just been a little busy with life. Anyways, it's my favorite time of the year so Movie of the Night: Hocus Pocus 2!
30 years have passed since the last time the Sanderson sisters (played by Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimi) were bought back to life. This time though, the Black Flame was lit by a young and powerful witch named Becca (Whitney Peak). Because of Becca, Salem has three more witches but they have pent up dark magic waiting to cause mayhem. It is up to Becca and her coven to make sure the Sanderson sisters never come back.
I'm not going to lie: I was pretty excited to watch this movie, and it did not let me down. The special effects have definitely had an improvement since 1993 but I did not expect Billy Butcherson to have an English accent. Of course, he did not speak much in the original but this one was a little different since he had more of a part. Anyways, I have heard good things about the movie so of course, I had to put my two cents and Disney+ made it magical to watch. Not only were viewers able to see Winnie's powers but also Sarah's and Mary's as well as Becca's and her covens' power. Hocus Pocus 2 keeps the spooky season alive with magic, music, and a spell or two.
