It has been one whole year since the Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman) passed away and not a single day passes by where Shuri (Letitia Wright) and her mother, Ramonda (Angela Bassett), don't think about him. But it's during that grieving time a new species decides to invade the world, and it's up to the Wakandians to help save the Earth from them. Shuri not only has to battle blue skinned superhumans and their leader, Namo (Tenoch Huerta), but her emotions as well.
I was upset I missed the first little bit of the movie but I was able to grasp it shortly after the opening credits. What can I say about this movie? There was a little bit of everything in it. The comedic factor from CIA agent Everett Ross (Martin Freeman), the women empowerment from all the strong badass women that crossed the screen from Angela Bassett to Danai Gurera to Letitia Wright, and the sentiment of almost crying. I'm not going to get into that because I think I've already mentioned too many spoilers in my movie reviews. I just feel like the movie was missing a little bit something that could have made it even better and not just the flying water breather either. Maybe it's the introduction to Gods that's throwing me off. I'm used to Marvel being about superheros and all their cool powers, but now it just seems a little strange to me. Like they're trying to drag out the movies. Oh well. More entertainment for me but it just seemed that: Entertaining. Of course, watching this movie on the big screen will definitely feel like you're on Wakanda but I'm pretty sure this movie is going to be on Disney+ faster than Thanksgiving is going to be here.
*Rated PG-13 for action, language, and strong violence
My Rating: B
