Hey guys, how's it going? I know. I've been really slacking. With the rise of prices in AMC theaters and the fact that no one really wants to go to movie theaters anymore kind of puts a damper on me, but I know a good portion of us streams movies so I will most definitely be doing more movies that are more accessible. Anyways, Movie of the Night from the other night: Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania!
Scott Lang (played by Paul Rudd) is back at it again but this time, he's an Avenger. He actually means something now besides being an ex-convict doing petty crimes. The fact that he's actually spending time with his daughter, Cassie (played by Kathryn Newton), is a big win as well as spending time with Hope (played by Evangeline Lilly). It's not until he realizes his daughter has been experimenting with the multiverse that he and his family get sucked into a different realm and encounter Kang the Conqueror (played by Jonathan Majors). It's up to Ant-Man and the Wasp to make sure their entire family makes it back home safe and sound.
I don't know what is going on with Marvel but to me, for a moment, the universe was dragging but it's somewhat picking back up. Ant-Man was one of those movies that I actually slept on, because it just didn't interest me that much. This movie held my interest for a sufficient amount of time until I actually felt myself wanting to fall asleep. There are slow parts but for the most part, the movie has a great story that just goes down a rabbit hole I'm pretty sure everyone wants to get into. The Multiverse is already getting everyone's attention, so we want to know more. As for the special effects, I noticed there were some that just seemed a little different to me. Maybe there's something different going on with CGI, but there was something different going on. As for the movie overall, not a bad movie. Entertaining to probably have in the background but I probably would not come back to the big screen to watch this.
*Rated PG-13 for language and action
My Rating: B-
