Hey guys, how's it going? Sorry about not posting last week. I needed a little break. I was also a little busy. Since summer is approaching, I may or may not be consistent with my posts but I do enjoy posting on Saturdays, so I will definitely let you guys know if something does come up. Anyways, Movie of the Night from the other night: Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3!
The Guardians of the Galaxy are back at it again except something happens to Rocket (voiced by Bradley Cooper) and it's up to his friends to help him get back on his feet. They need the help from Gamora (played by Zoe Saldana) though, and if you don't know, she does come back after the whole fiasco from Endgame. The thing is she doesn't have her memories before she lost her life to her father. The Guardians not only have to deal with Gamora's attitude, but a new enemy called the High Evolutionary (played by Chukwudi Iwuji) is going to make it a little difficult to have Rocket up and running especially since he and Rocket have a history. It's up to him and his family to make sure the universe doesn't fall in the wrong hands.
At first, I thought this movie was just going to be all jokes and laughs because the first portion of the movie was just nothing but that. But then things got serious and emotional. There was even animal torture that almost had me lose it which by the way, I did read some viewers did get triggered (I'm not sure if it was about that but I'm sure it didn't help) but if you are sensitive to that kind of thing, you are warned. That wasn't the only emotional thing about this movie. Starlord AKA Peter Quill (played by Chris Pratt) has the thought of seeing his grandpa back on Earth after spending so much time away. Did I mention Sylvester Stallone is also cameo'd in the movie as well? I didn't know he was a part of the franchise until I watched this movie. Anyways, I really enjoyed this movie and not just because of the emotional roller coaster I went through, but it actually had some depth in it unlike some of the other Marvel movies. It looks like they might start going uphill again. Also, if you enjoy watching space movies on the big screen, this is definitely one you want to watch on the big screen. (Little note: the producers for some weird reason love spinning the camera. Try not to get too dizzy.)
Rated PG-13 for language, action, thematic elements, and violence
My Rating: A+
