Mean Girls

Hey guys, how's it going? I'm doing alright. I'm going old school with this movie review. I'm also very surprised I didn't do one for Mean Girls, because this is one of those staple movies a lot of people reference too, so without further ado, Movie of the Night from the other night: Mean Girls!

Cady Heron (played by Lindsey Lohan) is new in town and doesn't know whether or not to make friends with Janis Ian (played by Lizzy Caplan) and Damian (played by Daniel Franzese) or be part of the popular crowd with the Plastics containing Regina George (played by Rachel McAdams), Gretchen Wieners (played by Lacey Chabert), and Karen Smith (played by Amanda Seyfried). It's not until Cady learns too late that she loses herself to the pressure of high school drama between these teenage girls.

Isn't this movie so fetch for you guys? Just kidding. Watching this movie in 2023 when it was released in 2004 made me cringe so hard. Not just from laughter from the silliness but the stupidity Millenial girls thought was "cool". I am also wondering how in my preteen mind thought this is how teenagers look. I think it just went over my head that these people were in their twenties and thirties playing high school students. I do like the lesson learned, because a lot of us lost ourselves in high school however some of the words that came out of their mouths made me laugh as if I just watched this movie for the first time. I wish I could watch this movie for the first time, because I always enjoyed this one. If you do want to reminisce, you can catch this movie on Netflix.

Rated PG-13 for language, sexual content, and teen partying

My Rating: B
