Hey guys, how's it going? Happy Saturday! I realized I have somewhat of a backlog of movies I need to rate but I want to make sure I also keep up to date with the movies in theaters. I know not a lot of people have the variety of streaming services others have but I do try to stick to the ones that are in theaters most of the time. Anyways, without further ado, Movie of the Night from the other night: Oppenheimer!
Theorist J. Robert Oppenheimer (played by Cillian Murphy) is known as the "Father of the Atomic Bomb" but did you know he was the one who brought quantum physics to the United States? Because of his genius theories, Americans wanted to put them in a more practical approach especially with them being part of World War II. Unfortunately not everyone had a similar thought process as Dr. Oppenheimer. After being indicted, it is up to his fellow colleagues to decide if he is a danger to national security. What would you think if you knew the person who made the atomic bomb?
Let's get something straight: The fact that this movie came out the same day as Barbie was something else. Haha you either had the choice of a three hour biography or a fictional character realized reality isn't what it's cut out to be. I am curious about Barbie but that'll be another time. Anyways, Christopher Nolan's depiction of Dr. J. Robert Oppenheimer was definitely thought provoking to say the least. The endless discussions between military operatives and scientists made my mind lose itself but wonder what is happening in this movie. I do watch trailers but I was not expecting this extent. Although there were moments of dramatics that seemed a little out there, I was interested from the beginning to the ending.
Rated R for language, nudity, and sexuality
