Home Alone

Hey guys! How's it going? It's been getting colder over here so I've been enjoying the weather by bundling up and enjoying some holiday movies. Watching these types of movies always gets me in the mood especially during the holidays :) Anyways, Movie of the Night: Home Alone!

The McKallister family is bustling especially during the holiday season and it never stops. The day before Christmas, Kevin McKallister (played by Macaulay Culkin) gets into trouble and has to spend the night in the third floor missing the trip to France thus enjoying some time alone from his chaotic family like eating a cheese pizza, watching movies he's not allowed to watch, and celebrating the peace and quiet. It wasn't until a couple robbers attempt to break in that makes Kevin think on his toes to protect the home he was meant to take care of while his family is out.

In all of the years that I have been writing movie reviews, I am surprised I have never did a movie review for this Christmas series. It's also been a good minute since I've watched this movie. It was definitely a throwback. Where do I begin with this? How about a little boy of eight years old can defend his home with just toys, ornaments, paint cans, and whatever else he can get his hands on? The creativity is great, but I can't help but ask how he managed to clean everything up before his family came back. Not only that but the damages the robbers got from all the endeavors like a third degree burn and a nail in the foot. It's just a wonder. You can enjoy this movie series with your family on Disney+ and if my kitties like this movie then I'm pretty sure the rest of the family wouldn't mind sitting down for this one.

Rated PG for violence and gore as well as frightening and intense scenes

My Rating: B+
