Hey guys! How's it going? I know it's been a minute and I've been super inconsistent. Between vacation and getting sick, October has been a busy month, but I still managed to watch a movie that I had my eye on. So without further ado, Movie of the Night from the other Night: Hubie Halloween!
Hubie Dubois (played by Adam Sandler) is a huge Halloween fan, however he wants his fellow Salem citizens to celebrate the holiday in a safe manner and if that means getting things thrown at him, he doesn't care. He still wants everyone to have fun on Halloween and with his trusty thermos, he's able to do just that... Except stop whoever is taking citizens during the spooky holiday. Is it his new neighbor? Or is it the woman he's had a crush on since high school? Or is it the escapee from the mental health institution that's been keeping the police busy? Either way, it's up to Hubie to save Salem from a crazy person ruining his favorite holiday in his beloved town.
I was kind of debating on which movie to watch during Halloween and it was either this or Texas Chainsaw Massacre but since I've seen that one, I thought I might as well have a good laugh on my favorite holiday. Anyways, Adam Sandler is back at it again and this time, he does it with basically his entire family. I didn't know until I was doing my research for my rating that all of his kids were in it. I thought some of them looked familiar. Anyways, Hubie Halloween is a silly movie not just for the family but for the holiday. It has it's suspicious thriller moments but because it has Adam Sandler in it, the movie is mainly silly with his accent and his thermos. Don't get me started on his multi-use thermos. If that thing ever existed, I might just get myself one of them. I won't put the things he himself put in it, but it still gave me a laugh every time he used it as a grappling hook or as a flare or even for mixing three different types of soups in it. Anyways, rumor has it: There's a second one in the works but I don't know how true that is. If you are interested in checking out this movie, it is available on Netflix.
*Rated PG-13 for language, crude and suggestive partying, and teen partying
My Rating: B
