The Marvels

Hey guys! How's it going? It's been going for me. I might still be in a food coma from Thanksgiving but I'm still going. I promised I would rate this one after the Hunger Games so without further ado, Movie of the Night from the other night: The Marvels!

It's been some time since Carol Danvers AKA Captain Marvel (played by Brie Larson) has been on planet Earth but when she's in the middle of combat, she can't help but switch places with either her friend's daughter, Monica Rambeau (played by Teyonah Parris) and Kamala Khan AKA Ms. Marvel (played by Iman Vellani) who happens to be Captain Marvel's biggest fan. It's up to them to figure out why they tend to switch places when using their powers simultaneously and save the universe from Dar-Benn (played by Zawe Ashton).

I don't know what I was expecting from this movie to be honest. Of course, some action and fighting but for some reason, there wasn't much umph in this Marvel movie. I don't know if it's because Brie Larson is stiff or Ms. Marvel can't stop fangirling over Captain Marvel. Despite the cringe from the fangirling and a strange planet where the inhabitants only sing when communicating, I can say the highlight of the movie were the flerkens (Yes. There are multiple flerkens besides Goose.) There were some moments that captivated me but unfortunately the movie as a whole wasn't that memorable. I did have the honor to watch this movie in 3D but if you do want to save your money, just wait until it hits Disney +.

Rated PG-13 for violence/action and some language

My Rating: C
