Hey guys! How's it going? Sorry about not posting the past couple weeks. I've been a wee bit busy with the holidays, but that hasn't stopped me from getting into the spirit and squeezing in a few good movies. So without further ado, Movie of the Night from the other Night: Elf!
Buddy (played by Will Ferrell) has always been an elf for Santa Claus but when Papa Elf (played by Bob Newhart) tells him about his father in New York City, he's gotta see him. Since Walter Hobbs (played by James Caan) is not exactly in the Christmas spirit, it's up to Buddy to cheer him up and have a few fun adventures while in the Big Apple including seeing a pretty girl and having some festivities.
I had to double check and make sure I didn't rate this one but when I saw I had not, I had to especially with Christmas right around the corner. Because of it's 20th anniversary, this movie is actually in theaters (only in select few) and I'm still kind of bummed I didn't see it on the big screen. Something about seeing Will Ferrell as an elf wander around New York City is hilarious. It's the innocence and the feel good feeling that makes Elf such a good movie. Buddy is just trying to make his dad happy and being a grump around the holidays is not always fun. Don't tell me it's not funny too when he's trying to use the escalator for the first time or getting into a fight with an "elf" from his father's company. Although Elf is a little dated, it's still a holiday favorite especially on the big screen.
*Rated PG for language and mild rude humor
