Cast Away

Hey guys! How's it going? Sorry about not posting last weekend. I got a wee bit busy but never fear! I will always have move to review haha. Anyways, I have been on a weird old school binge if you haven't noticed before I had to help babysit. But Movie of the Night from the other night: Cast Away!

Chuck Noland (played by Tom Hanks) is a busy bee but that doesn't stop him from taking care of business including work and proposing to the love of his life. However when he ends up going on a business trip during the holidays and crash lands on an island, it takes a lot more than a busy body to keep himself sane trying to get off the island.

It has been a minute since I've last seen this movie. I have got to say it's been at least five years since the last time I saw this movie and the last time I rated it was when I was first starting out my movie reviews on Facebook. (If you remember that time, it was a LONG time ago.) Not only did this movie make me think of not taking life for granted but it also made me think: what would happen if I was stranded on a deserted island? Because Chuck did not waste any time trying to figure out how to get off the island. Finding food and shelter was one thing but having the courage to go on a makeshift raft out in the middle of the Pacific is something else. There's just something about open water that can be a bit scary, but after four years Chuck is found and even finds his way back to his love. This movie has basically everything: drama, suspense, even a little comedy bit since he makes a volleyball friend (If you needed to talk out your thoughts, how would you do so?) and I'm glad I didn't pass this up when I saw it come on Hulu. If there was a movie I could rewatch on the big screen, it would be this one.

*Rated PG-13 for some disturbing scenes and intense action sequences

My Rating: A+
