Inside Out 2

Hey guys! How's it going? I'm in the midst of babysitting a 10-year-old so I'm in somewhat of vacation mode but not. A staycation? Kind of. Anyways, we decided to watch this bad boy since it just came out yesterday. So Movie of the Day: Inside Out 2!

In this sequel, Riley (voiced by Kensington Tallman) is 13-years-old and she's going through something we've all been through: puberty. Except for Riley, she's going through it while going to camp for hockey with her two best friends. But when they mention they're going to a different school next year, it puts Riley into a state of emotional turmoil so what does Riley do? She tries to make new friends and it doesn't help that Anxiety (voiced by Maya Hawke) is at the controls this time while Joy (voiced by Amy Poehler) and the others are at the back of the mind. What could go wrong?

I don't know why I thoroughly enjoy this movie franchise, but I have a feeling it's because I'm a highly empathetic person so whenever someone is being emotional, I can't help but feel their emotions and this movie almost put me into an anxiety attack since Riley goes through one. It's interesting how the creators put the emotions into characters that people can see and experience through, so I guess that's why these movies intrigue me. Anyways, this movie was not only interesting but a great one to enjoy with the family. It has all sorts of elements from comedy to drama and I couldn't help but enjoy it way too much especially on the big screen. So I recommend not waiting until it hits the streaming services.

*Rated PG for thematic elements

My Rating: A+
