Big Fat Liar

Hey guys! How's it going? It got randomly humid today and then it rained for a split second. I can never get used to the desert. Ugh. Anyways, I came across this oldie when I was scrolling through Netflix and thought why not so Movie of the Night: Big Fat Liar!

Jason Shepherd (played by Frankie Muniz) is your average 14-year-old and likes to lie. In fact, because of his lying he has to go to summer school however when he tries to make up for not doing the assignment, he bumps into Marty Wolf (played by Paul Giamatti) a has-been producer, who finds Jason's paper and makes it into the next big movie. Jason does everything he can to gain his parents' trust back even if it involves lying and his best friend Kaylee (played by Amanda Bynes).

It has been a minute since I've last seen this movie and when I found it, it was blast in the past. Not only were the actors and actresses so young, the story line itself is just out of this world. What kind of 14-year-old goes to the measure of flying halfway across the country just to make sure he did his assignment? I mean summer school stinks but it kind of makes sense. It definitely reminded me of when I went to Universal Studios too. If you never been there, there's a tour involving all the different sets for different types of movies like old westerns, Jaws, and all sorts of places. Hollywood is interesting when it comes to making the magic. Anyways, the movie brings viewers to the back side of the movies and I thought it was hilarious, because there was a bit of foreshadowing from a character when they are planning on making Big Fat Liar a movie. Did I mention they put Eiffel 65's "I'm Blue" in as part of the revenge Jason does against Wolf? So if you're looking for a funny family movie to watch, check it out! It's only on Netflix though if you do plan on watching it.

Rated PG for some language

My Rating: B-
