Deadpool & Wolverine

Hey guys! How's it going? Happy August! Is it me or is this year just flying by, because holy cow! Anyways, I watched this earlier this week and I was super excited to do a movie review, because Deadpool is one of my favorite antiheros. So without further ado: Deadpool & Wolverine!

Deadpool is back! And this time, he's messing with timelines! Wade (played by Ryan Reynolds) is doing the best he can with his life, because if you remember from the previous movie, him and his friends fixed Cable's time machine and brought back Vanessa however during the here and now, they aren't together anymore. He's a car salesman with his old buddy, Peter (played by Rob Delaney), and living with Blind Al (played by Leslie Uggams). But when he tries to get his life together and gets turned down to be an Avenger, a society called the Time Variance Alliance lets him know his timeline is deteriorating and what does Wade do? Be a hero... somewhat. By bringing Logan (played by Hugh Jackman) back and not just from dead but from a different timeline. Except this Wolverine didn't really help his friends and family so he's not exactly a hero either. But with the help from him and a few unexpected friends like multiple versions of himself, Deadpool not only fixes his timeline but learns to cope with the life he has.

Where do I begin with this review? How about the fact that I saw people walk out of the movie theater because of the vulgar language that happened within the first couple minutes? But if you haven't watched the first two movies, you would have expected the amount of profanity that comes out of this man's mouth, because he does not care at all about what he says, so to all the parents who thought this movie was just going to be another one of those comedic superhero movies, do NOT let your little ones watch this. Second, I thought this movie was just entertaining at first but despite the amount of tangents that Deadpool and Wolverine go off on, there is a story. Albeit a little repetitive story, because how many times can Marvel remind the viewers of the multiverse? But it's interesting learning that Logan is the anchor to Wade's timeline. If you haven't watched the movie, an anchor is someone special in a universe that ties it all together. In this one, it just so happened to be Wolverine. So even though Deadpool isn't so happy to bring Logan back with him, it just so happens to work out in the end. The banter these two have though is hilarious, and it doesn't have to include swearing to see why these two are constantly annoying each other. So even though the Easter Eggs were either a hit or miss, I really enjoyed this movie. I'm also glad I got to see it on the big screen, because those action scenes are pretty awesome in XD. So next time you listen to Bye, Bye, Bye you might just end up doing a little dance with Deadpool.

Rated R for language, violence, gore, and sexual references

My Rating: B+
