The Blind Side

Hey guys! How's it going? I should have watched this movie sooner than later because today is the last day it's going to be on Netflix and I wanted to kickoff football season with a football movie. Anyways, Movie of the Night from the other night: The Blind Side!

Michael Oher (played by Quinton Aaron) is not your average student. He might be a little quiet and stays to himself but Leigh Ann Tuohy (played by Sandra Bullock) sees potential in him even if he is homeless. Leigh Ann decides to take him in and because of him, she sees a change in her own family. However when the family sees Michael doing well in football some legality issues pop up and Michael doesn't care about that. He just wants to be part of a family who cares about him.

I'm still surprised by myself for not watching this movie any sooner and it's a pretty old movie based on how young Sandra Bullock is. I was also surprised Kathy Bates was in the movie. But besides the cast and the amazing acting, the story itself captivated me from the get go. For a young man to come from the bottom to the top makes an interesting story. I'm always a sucker for a feel good movie. Not only that, I did do my little research and even though the movie did kind of taint Michael Oher's (the actual football player) career, the movie itself is a great watch. Too bad it's not on Netflix anymore. Maybe the next time it's on a streaming service, I'll keep an eye out and put it on. Too bad I didn't catch it on the big screen.

*Rated PG-13 for language, brief violence, and drug and sexual references

My Rating: A
