Spider-Man

Hey guys! How's it going? I know. I haven't really been consistent, but with everything going on, I still have been having my movie nights as well as time to actually go to the movie theater, and lately I have been on a Spider-Man kick so without further ado, Movie of the Night from the other night: Spider-Man!

In this original Spider-Man movie, Peter Parker is played by Tobey Maguire and he finds out the hard way of what it's like to be a superhero and tries to live the life he wants to have especially when all he wants is the girl next door, Mary Jane Watson (played by Kirsten Dunst) and hang out with his best friend Harry Osborne (played by James Franco). It wasn't until he was on a field trip when he got bit by a radioactive spider and got his amazing superpowers that he realized he's got some responsibilities he's got to take care of. The thing is there's an evil villain afoot and he's got to take care of him before he creates more mayhem except who is this Green Goblin?

This movie popped up on Netflix, and I had to watch it. With all the recent Marvel movies as well as the recent Spider-Man movies with Tom Holland, I wanted to get back to the old school classics and zone out to something I know I always enjoyed, and this was one of those movies I used to watch especially with my younger cousins. Anyways, I feel like if you haven't watched this trilogy, you would have still seen Tobey Maguire in the most recent Tom Holland Spider-Man movie since they recreated several iconic moments. It was definitely a blast in the past seeing Willem Dafoe and James Franco in their element. Not to mention, Stan Lee himself which Rest in Peace big guy so it's an nostalgia movie for sure. I forgot in this Spider-Man Peter Parker has the webs coming out of his own flesh, so when I do see the newer ones with their fancy gadgets, it's interesting to say the least. But if you're ever in the mood to watch an original Spider-Man series, you should get on Netflix and put on this bad boy, because not only are you going to enjoy the comedy the early 2000's had to offer but the awesome moves Tobey Maguire himself did while filming this gem. If only we could watch this one in theaters again...

*Rated PG-13 for violence and action

My Rating: A
