The Lost City

Hey guys! How's it going? I know. I've had a rough start of the year, but I'm getting back on the consistency train even if that means I have to stream movies for a little bit. But this one was actually on my To Watch list for a while so without further ado, Movie of the Night: The Lost City!

Reclusive author Loretta Sage (played by Sandra Bullock) has been having some writer's block, and she has not been having any help from her publisher or her cover artist model, Alan (played by Channing Tatum). It wasn't until she started her book tour when Loretta gets kidnapped by an eccentric fan and has to find the Lost City of D for him. With the unexpected help from Alan, and for a brief time, his trainer, Loretta finds herself in an adventure she would not have thought about even if she wasn't looking for it.

Ever since I saw the movie poster of this movie, I always wanted to see this movie no matter how silly it was. So if you're a gamer, you would be able to see how this movie would appeal to some people. Adventure, excitement, comedy. What can go wrong? Nothing too bad, however because it's not exactly such a big franchise like Tomb Raider or Uncharted, it just seems a little all over the place. Indie movies have always been a favorite of mine mainly because of the spur of the moment decisions like going on an adventure, but this one was just not hitting it right. Especially with the all star cast that is involved with this movie. I'm not going to lie: I was a little surprised that Daniel Radcliffe is in this movie and the fact that he plays the antagonist is a little different for me, but it's still interesting nonetheless. I'm a little bummed out Brad Pitt wasn't exactly in a majority of the movie, but his character was still funny enough to be a part of the story. Anyways, I wish I could have seen this movie on the big screen, because I would have enjoyed it a little more and would have felt a little bit more of the adventure Loretta was on, but if you do have Netflix, take a look at it and you may or may not have a chuckle from it.

*Rated PG-13 for violence, suggested material, language, partial nudity, and bloody images
