Hey guys! How's it going? Happy March! I know. January felt like it flew by then February slowed down a bit (at least for me), but I was actually pretty excited to write this review, because that meant I was in the actual theater haha. So without further ado, Movie of the Night from the other night: Captain America: Brave New World!
Did you know Captain America has different faces? In this action-packed film, Sam Wilson (played by Anthony Mackie) is the new face for Captain America and he's caught between some international debacle, and it doesn't help that the president of the United States, Thaddeus Ross (played by Harrison Ford), has a different view when it comes to a new resource the US found. On top of that, one of his colleagues gets arrested for conspiring against the president but it wasn't his fault so with the help from another friend, Joaquin Torres (played by Danny Ramirez), Sam does his best to be on the president's good side otherwise he might be seeing some red.
I was a bit skeptical watching this one. Not only is Captain America not Steve Rogers, the Hulk is now red. There are just some slight changes the new generation is seeing that I don't fully understand. I tried watching this one with an open mind too, but it was a little difficult especially with the politics thrown in. When you're used to seeing Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones, it's a little hard to see him as the president of the United States. Let alone, the new hulk. Yes. Sorry about the spoiler, but it will be explained on what happened there if you do watch the movie. I thought the action was pretty cool to see on the big screen, but I feel like I could have waited until this movie came onto Disney+ or any streaming service when it came to the story. Because for the first time in a long time, I was falling asleep in the middle of a Marvel movie. I was learning not only a different side of Captain America, but there was just not enough comedic entertainment as the other Marvel movies. It's just not the same to what I'm used to. I do have to say if you do skip out on this one, you're not missing much, but it's still entertaining to watch.
Rated PG-13 for language, violence and action
My Rating: C
