Hey guys! How's it going? So before I watched the new Captain America, I was on a Spider-Man kick for some weird reason and I wanted to make sure I got to them, because I didn't see all of the Tom Holland ones so without further ado, Movie of the Night from the other night: Spider-Man 2!
Peter Parker (played by Tobey Maguire) is back at it again as Spider-Man however there's a new villain in town and his name is Doc Ock (played by Alfred Molina) or otherwise known as Doctor Otto Octavious and he's got an interesting attribute contributing to his powers: Robotic arms that tend to control him rather than him controlling the arms. So while Peter is trying to figure out his own life especially when it comes to his best friend, Harry Osborne (played James Franco) and girlfriend, Mary-Jane Watson (played by Kirsten Dunst), he's got to figure out to balance the responsibilities he has as well as his powers not working for him.
I didn't even realize I never rated the original Spider-Man movies, so I thought it would be fun to rate them but I don't plan when I go to the movie theaters so I apologize with the random movie rating that does interrupt a series. Anyways, I forgot about this movie so when I saw it pop up on Netflix I had to throw it on, and I forgot how much Peter goes through especially with Mary Jane. Because his best friend is not only on a mission on figuring out who Spider Man is, his girlfriend is putting a lot of pressure on him just to support her. Plus his powers are not fully functioning. Yeah. It can be a lot for one person, and that was another thing I forgot: How much a person can relate to Peter Parker despite him being a superhero. I don't really remember much of this movie so it was like watching it for the first time but not really. This one was never my favorite, but I do remember the funny face Peter makes while saving a train, so I had to include it haha. I do wish I could have seen this one in theaters, because it would have been very interesting seeing that final scene with Doc Ock, but if you're on a Spider-Man kick, I highly recommend not skipping this one, because I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one who forgot what happened in this one.
*Rated PG-13 for action and violence
My Rating: B
