Spider-Man 3

Hey guys! How's it going? I know. If you've noticed, I had to move my movie reviews to a different day, because life has been crazy for me lately however it does not change the fact that I still watch a butt load of movies no matter what day it is for me. Anyways, without further ado, Movie of the Night from the other night: Spider-Man 3!

Peter Parker (played by Tobey Maguire) is back at it again for the third and final time except this time, he's got quite a bit on his hands and one of them is proposing to his long time girlfriend, Mary Jane Watson (played by Kirsten Dunst) except when that doesn't go well, it not only affects his mental health but also his superpowers as Spider-Man, and if you don't remember what happened in the previous movie when he doubted himself, Spider-Man's superpowers were not doing so well. It also doesn't help that there's a new villain in town and it's not only affecting Peter but the people around him like Eddie Brock (played by Topher Grace) and his former best friend, Harry Osborne (played by James Franco). It's up to Peter to protect the people he loves and by not letting his darker side get the best of him.

So when I recently watched the newest Venom movie, I had to admit to myself that I did not remember how Venom came to be which is why I was kind of excited to rewatch this movie, because it explains so much but not really. I'm still working my way through the Spider-Man series. Not to mention, I can't seem to get the Amazing Spider-Man series on the current streaming services I have, but I will find a way haha. Anyways, this was a nice bounce back from the second Spider-Man, because this one actually kept my attention except the weird CGI moments in the beginning of the movie with Sandman, but I have to remind myself this movie came out during the early 2010's when CGI was just starting to take off so I can't be too harsh however it doesn't distract from the actual story of the movie, and it gets interesting. Not only are we seeing the dark and aggressive side of Peter, but we also get to see MJ and Harry interact with him in a whole different way and especially how things ended up in the previous movie. Harry wasn't too keen that Spider-Man was his best friend and Peter's relationship with MJ was already complicated so trying to propose to her was just something else. It also reminded me that there are different universes despite the whole debacle with the multiverse. I almost forgot about Gwen. This is why I have to see the Amazing Spider-Man now. Anyways, despite the bad CGI in the beginning of the movie, I wouldn't mind watching this one on the big screen. It would have been cool to see Venom on there when he first came around.

*Rated PG-13 for intense action violence

My Rating: B+
